Prayer Request - February 3, 2004

Greetings from the Dominican Republic,

Please join us in prayer for Yaeris Martínez. This child has been in the Community Based Rehabilition Program for 6 years now, where our health promoters have worked on his severe behavior problems and cognitive development. Thanks to our program he is attending a special education school, despite this he gets in to trouble in his neighborhood and as a result receives severe beatings from his uncles and relatives at home. He has been talking about suicide and has sadly tried to commit suicide, although he is only 11 years old. His mother wants to give him away hence we are currently in the process of looking for a place where he is accepted and taken care of. Please pray we will find the best place for him to live. The psychologist agrees with finding him another home being the only chance for him to be able to improve.
