Prayer and Praise

Prayer Request - September 26, 2003

Dear friends of International Child Care,

Two days after I returned to the USA from being in the field with Trudy Bekker, our National Director in the Dominican Republic, I received word from her that Puerto Plata and Santiago (where our ICC ministry is headquartered) was hit by two earthquakes registering 6.5 and 5.0 on the Richter scale. Since then, those cities have suffered through more than 60 aftershocks. Many businesses, government buildings, banks and homes were badly damaged. 16 schools in Puerto Plata were either damaged or destroyed and 140 schools were damaged and evacuated in Santiago.

Trudy, the ICC staff and their families are fine, but the same can not be said for others in those areas. The needs are now even greater than ever before.

Please pray for all the Dominicans and their families. Pray for our wonderfully committed staff who work each day to bring healing, hope and wholeness to the children and their families in the D.R.
